Baylor football has a tough slate of games heading into the 2020 season but how do the Bears’ opponents rank in terms of difficulty?
Baylor is entering a new era under the direction of Dave Aranda. The former LSU defensive coordinator is fresh off a national title and will have a full cupboard to work with.
Charlie Brewer is back after passing for 3,161 yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also rushed for 344 yards and 11 touchdowns and returns as one of the Big 12’s best quarterbacks and potentially a Heisman darkhorse.
Joining Brewer on the offensive side of the ball is John Lovett who led the team in rushing last year as well as Trestan Ebner. The former rushed for 655 yards and five touchdowns on 6.4 yards per carry as a junior while Ebner had 250 yards and three touchdowns. This duo in the backfield should be one of the best in the conference.
Tyquan Thornton will be one of the better receivers in the conference and both RJ Sneed and Josh Fleeks will also return as starters.
Baylor had the No. 19 scoring defense in the country and 39th-best total defense last season. Those numbers were also good for first and third in the Big 12, respectively.
While all of this factors in to the outcome of the Bears’ 2020 season, the schedule will also play a major role. How do the Bears’ opponents rank in terms of toughness.
