2. Improvement on the defensive front

Some people may be scratching their head on this one. Clemson has produced some of the higher-end defensive line talent like Christian Wilkins, Shaq Thompson and Dexter Fowler.

However, last season’s lack of a talented defensive line ultimately bit Clemson in the butt. During the national title game, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow faced little to no pressure and ended up dicing the Clemson defense for 463 yards and five touchdowns.

Clemson absolutely needed its defensive front to generate more pressure on the quarterback. One look at the incoming recruiting class and it’s safe to assume it will.

The Tigers will be getting that help from incoming five-star prospect Bryan Bresee, defensive tackle Demonte Capehart and Myles Murphy — all three are expected to enter camp and immediately compete for a job.

Despite a lack of experience on the defensive front, Clemson held all but three of their opponents to under 20 points last season.
