1. Unlike Jamie Newman, JT Daniels is used to the big stage

The case for Jamie Newman winning the starting job has to be his experience and the fact that he had no problem winning games at Wake Forest, but JT Daniels is used to the big stage and the bright lights.

What’s different about starting for multiple years at Wake Forest as opposed to one at USC? Well, playing quarterback at USC comes with massive expectations. The Demon Deacons may be a program on the rise, but USC is one of the most pressure-packed quarterback jobs in the country and if you’re labeled as the starter, you have to produce or you’ll be replaced immediately.

Daniels started as a true freshman which is already impressive and he held that job long enough to pass for over 2,600 yards and 14 touchdowns. He could have been more productive and efficient, but it was just the beginning of his college career — plus Clay Helton’s hot seat has been weighing on everyone in Los Angeles.

Todd Monken has quite the talented quarterback room to deal with this season and Daniels may be the guy because of his ability to perform at a high level on the biggest stages.

If you’re going to be a quarterback at Georgia, you can’t shy away from the bright lights and Daniels won’t do that.
