After a magical 2019 season that ended with a national championship, LSU football is looking to keep the momentum going and avoid a letdown.
Sometimes in college football, teams and programs just have a perfect storm of of elite players and schemes making a perfect marriage.
Heading into 2019, Joe Burrow was looked as just an average quarterback with untapped talent around him. LSU had always preached about making offensive change, but they always fell flat. Joe Brady changed that and then some, helping put together what might be the greatest offense in college football history and helping Burrow have the single greatest season in history, all the while, helping LSU football win another national championship.
So what do the Tigers do for an encore?
LSU will have to replace Burrow, starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, receiver Justin Jefferson, tight end Thaddeus Moss and four starting offensive linemen on that side of the ball.
On defense, K’Lavon Chaisson, Patrick Queen, Rashard Lawrence, Grant Delpit and Kristain Fulton are all gone. On top of all that, Brady (passing game coordinator) and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda have moved on to bigger and better things. This is a a lot of talent and coaches that have to be replaced, but this is LSU and talent is all over the roster.
A tough schedule awaits and LSU will be one of the most watched teams in the country to see how they do in light of what they lost.
Here is how the 2020 season is going to play out for the Tigers.
