Middle Tennessee football had an injury-filled 2019 and will look to return to the postseason in 2020. Will the Blue Raiders get back to a bowl?

Believe it or not, Middle Tennessee football had at least six wins from every year between 2012-18 and head coach Rick Stockstill had built a very consistent program.

I think it is safe for everyone to chalk last season up to bad injury luck across the board and that resulted in Middle Tennessee having the worst scoring defense in the C-USA.

The Blue Raiders have one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the conference in Asher O’Hara, and he will be looking to help Middle Tennessee have a bounce back season in 2020.

Stockstill is one of the longest tenured coaches in the country, and that may come as a surprise to most, because if you have success at a program like MTSU, you are likely to jump at another opportunity to take a more high-profile job. He treaded water his first few seasons, but broke out with a 10-3 record in 2009, but just two seasons later, the Blue Raiders were looking at a 2-10 season. Ever since then, MTSU has been a very consistent program.

The Blue Raiders have a manageable schedule and plenty of returning talent to get back to that six win mark in 2020. With an improved defense, they could get even more than that.
