5. Myles Brennan, LSU
Everybody knows about LSU quarterback Joe Burrow’s legendary season last year. He threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and just six interceptions en route to one of the greatest seasons out of a quarterback that’s ever been seen at the FBS level. He won the national championship, the Heisman Trophy, AP College Football of the Year and about 50 other awards.
Why am I bringing this up? People probably won’t have their eye on first-year starter Myles Brennan after this legendary season. You can almost guarantee that Brennan won’t be able to match the season that Burrow had, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this offense was unstoppable last season.
They retain their top receiver in Ja’Marr Chase, the guy who was recognized as the best receiver in the country.
Brennan comes in after waiting three years for his turn, and you can bet that he’ll be ready for the spotlight. The chemistry will be there with the rest of the offense and the only question is in regards to his football abilities. Will he have the talent to keep the Tigers’ offense afloat? We’ll find out, but either way this should be another fun year to watch LSU in the SEC.
