Texas will be riding off of a big win on the road at LSU and will need to be focused for their game against UTEP.

UTEP has been one of the worst programs in the country in recent seasons and this game should be light work for the Longhorns, the big takeaway if you are a Texas fan is that you want the team to leave with zero injuries and be healthy heading into the bye week to get ready to make a run at the Big 12 title.

Final Score: Texas 55, UTEP 10 (3-0)

Texas should be fresh coming off what is essentially two bye weeks (sorry UTEP fans) and geared up for Big 12 play. Their first conference test will be on the road against an always tough Kansas State team, that did not take long to impress under new coach Chris Klieman.

Kansas State did not face many expectations last season which made their 8-5 record so surprising. Klieman will have back quarterback Skylar Thompson, but only two starters total on offense. The defense should be stingy once again and Klieman is one of the most well-respected coaches in the country for his ability to build programs.

This could be a tricky test for the Longhorns, as they could be looking ahead to the big rivalry game next week versus Oklahoma and Manhattan has been a tricky place for Texas in years past. I think the Longhorns start slow, much like last years game against the Wildcats, but find a way to close the game out and get ready for the Sooners.

Final Score: Texas 35, Kansas State 24 (4-0, 1-0 Big 12)
