The Netflix docu-series Last Chance U returns for its fifth season on July 28. Here’s a list of fan favorites from the first four parts.

Netflix first introduced us to head coach Buddy Stephens and East Mississippi C.C. in 2016 when Last Chance U premiered. Players came and went, but the second season (EMCC: Part 2) remained in Scooba, Miss., to chronicle another year with Stephens and the EMCC Lions.

Season 3 (Indy: Part 1) headed for Independence, Kan., to follow first-year head coach Jason Brown and the Indy C.C. Pirates. A second season followed the Pirates before Brown became an author and social media-maven.

The players featured were electric from the beginning, too. Each season infused new players with unique stories. From skill-position players to those in the trenches, Last Chance U provided viewers with plenty of talent and dream-chasing to enjoy.

While the upcoming list could go well into the teens, here we’ll provide just five of the biggest fan-favorites to pass through Last Chance U.

Before that, though, a few players who deserve honorable mentions: Tim Bonner, Bobby Bruce, Kailon Davis, John Franklin III and Carlos Thompson.

A handful of non-athletes became favorites, too, in particular Brittany Wagner — the athletic academic counselor at EMCC.
