Time is running out for Kevin Sumlin to turn Arizona football around before he is pushed out the door. Can he get the Wildcats back to a bowl in 2020?

The Arizona Wildcats aren’t too far removed from their Pac-12 North tile season, but six years later, the program is near the conference basement.

Since that 2014 season, Arizona has put together just two winning seasons and had to fire head coach Rich Rodriguez after the 2017 season after he was accused of sexual misconduct.

In 2020, the Wildcats will enter the third year of the Kevin Sumlin era. Arizona hired the former Texas A&M head coach prior to the 2018 season, hoping he’d bring success back to Tucson, but instead, he has posted a 9-15 record with no bowl bids putting him on the hot seat entering just his third year on the job.

Last season Arizona went just 4-8 with a 2-7 conference record despite one of the nation’s most versatile players in Khalil Tate at quarterback.

Now the Wildcats will turn the page to 2020 where Tate is now in the NFL and many questions surround the status of their head coach.

The only way to shut down the noise is to get back to a bowl game and that’s exactly what Arizona will look to do in 2020.

Here’s a closer look at what may be ahead for the Arizona Wildcats in 2020.
