Junior. player. Scouting Report. LB. Josh Chandler. 2. 877. Pick Analysis

After adding depth at the position as a freshman, Josh Chandler became a key cog in the Mountaineers’ defense at linebacker a year ago. He finished second on the team with 69 tackles in just 10 games (nine starts), while earning an All-Big 12 honorable mention.

We haven’t seen Chandler wreak havoc quite like former Mountaineer David Long, who was the 2018 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. But a step in that direction could prove to be huge for not just Chandler, but the entire WVU football program. How big of a leap will Chandler make in 2020?

The ‘Eers defensive line is one that’s expected to cause fits for opposing offenses. And while they’ll often dictate where ball-carriers go, they won’t always make the play themselves.

If Chandler’s able to scrape and clean up anything that squeaks through, in addition to aiding the ‘Eers to multiple victories, he’ll quickly be mentioned in the conversation about the Big 12’s  best linebackers.
