Games 7-10 of LSU football’s perfect schedule

South Carolina (Dec. 5)
Missouri (Dec. 12)

Since there are two cross-divisional games that need to be added, I’m going with one of the bottom-dwellers from the SEC East in Vanderbilt.

The Commodores have been quite familiar with last place for years and Derek Mason is on the hot seat after being unable to replicate the success James Franklin had in Nashville. This could be the last chance for the Tigers to face the head coach.

The toughest remaining game on LSU’s schedule is a road battle with Auburn and what better time to face the Tigers than after a bye?

An extra week to prepare for Bo Nix and Co. will be much-needed and the battle of the Tigers could be one of the best games of the season. Gus Malzahn is also hoping to contend for a playoff appearance so don’t be surprised if this is an elimination-type game.

South Carolina is in an interesting position because it’s not void of talent, but head coach Will Muschamp is on the hot seat after underperforming for a couple of years.

Jake Bentley has transferred out and the starting job is Ryan Hilinski’s to lose as a sophomore after missing a chunk of 2019 with an injury. He could make the difference in this battle, but he’ll have a tough time against LSU’s defense in Death Valley.

This South Carolina team should hover around the .500 mark so it’s the perfect way to follow up an intense battle with Auburn.

The second added game on the schedule to make it perfect would be Missouri. The Tigers are under the direction of first-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz from App State and they’ll be in major rebuilding mode. They’re expected to fight Vanderbilt for last place in the SEC East.

Missouri no longer has Kelly Bryant, but TCU transfer Shawn Robinson might be a surprise star. Either way, this should be an easy win for LSU.
