3. Joe Tryon, Linebacker/EDGE

Joe Tryon made the All-Pac-12 second team as a sophomore last season after posting 41 tackles and leading the Huskies in sacks with eight. His ability to blitz off the edge as well as play a 4-3 outside linebacker which lets Jimmy Lake use him in different ways. He doubled his tackling output between his freshman and sophomore seasons and added seven sacks.

There’s a lot of excitement around Tryon this season as Phil Steele had him on his All-American first team while Sporting News had him on their All-American second team.

Tryon is without a doubt a baller and will be a key member of this Huskies defense. He showed how dominant he can be against Oregon State when he had seven tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. He was in the backfield all night and helped shut down the Beavers as they scored just seven points.

The junior was only a three-star recruit out of high school but has proved a lot of people wrong in his first two seasons and is looking to continue doing so. There’s a lot of talent on this Huskies defense and Tryon is just one of the many guys looking to make the All-Pac-12 first team.
