USC football is talented and experienced and with a conference only schedule, could be a darkhorse for a potential playoff push in 2020.

There are certain cliches in college football that I’m sure the average fan is tired of hearing. Texas is back, Michigan is a Big Ten contender and USC is the most talented team in the Pac-12 are some things that you seemingly hear every offseason from every major network and analyst in the business.

However, it’s a fact that USC possesses one of the best rosters in the conference and that the Trojans will be beneficiaries of a conference-only schedule.

Some teams will have their schedules made even tougher by having a conference-only slate, but USC will have Alabama and Notre Dame taken off and replaced with Washington State, so that could be a big boost to USC’s hopes for the season.

The big question that Trojan fans and football fans in general will ask is if Clay Helton is the man that can take advantage of USC’s talent and guide the Trojans to a season that could include a Pac-12 title and a possible playoff push.

USC returns quarterback Kedon Slovis and a deep and talented group of receivers, along with a defense that was very young last season and returns a wealth of experience. The big question is if this is the right coaching staff to take advantage of USC’s talent and win the Pac-12 and make that playoff push that Trojans fans have been expecting.

Here is how USC’s conference-only schedule will play out.
