3. Miami Hurricanes (6-7)

The Miami Hurricanes are consistently one of the most overrated teams in college football. They’re ‘The U’ — one of the biggest names in the game with a storied past. They’re destined to have a lot of support each year.

Last year was one of these years. As a team that was projected to win 8.5 games in the preseason and compete for a conference title, this was possibly the biggest flop on this entire list. The Hurricanes split eight games in arguably the worst Power Five division in the country en route to a 6-7 finish, their worst since 2014.

Don’t count out the Hurricanes in 2020 (or 2021) yet, though. The main issue for this team last season was offense. In fact, the defense was very strong, finishing 13th in the country in total defense. The offense, on the other hand, barely found itself in the top 100 at No. 98.

This should change this coming season (whenever that may be), as the Hurricanes recently signed quarterback D’Eriq King, arguably the best player in the transfer portal, to their roster. King will improve their offense; the question really comes down to how much.
