2. Alabama Crimson Tide (11-2)

The Alabama Crimson Tide are in a unique position. They just had an 11-win season, and at the same time, they just had their worst football season since 2013.

For the first time, they were left out of the College Football Playoff. Many people believe this can be chalked up to the Crimson Tide losing starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to multiple injuries throughout the season.

If Tua’s replacement — Mac Jones — isn’t able to lead this offense, former five-star and near-perfect recruit Bryce Young will. At running back, the Crimson Tide return Heisman hopeful, Najee Harris.

The two losses that this team suffered last season will not sit well with the returning players and coaches, and they’ll be eager to get back out on the field.

On the defensive side of the ball, injuries plagued this unit in the defensive line and linebacker rooms. With an extended offseason, this unit will have extra time to recover, making the return of Alabama a scary sight for the rest of college football. This isn’t the same as “Texas is back”.

The Crimson Tide are a team that will contend this coming season.
