Kentucky had a nightmare scenario unfold in 2019 with Terry Wilson going down with injury as well as the backup quarterbacks, leaving receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. as the only viable option.

Bowden Jr. is gone, deciding to forgo his senior season after showcasing his athleticism in 2019 but Wilson is back and healthy and he’ll get a push from Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood. Kentucky is always a tough matchup, but Alabama should take care of the Wildcats here.

The second bye week comes before a huge matchup with Georgia which could be a preview of the SEC title game. Whichever team loses may be out of the running for the SEC championship, however.

Jake Fromm is gone and so is D’Andre Swift, but Jamie Newman and JT Daniels are two more than capable options to replace the All-SEC passer and NFL draft selection. Plus, this is a program that doesn’t rebuild, it reloads.

Kirby Smart vs. Nick Saban will be quite the showdown and Alabama could use that extra week of prep.

Georgia is quite the battle but one way to ease into the final weeks following a potential top-five showdown is with Ole Miss.

The Rebels are also fielding a new coach this season with Lane Kiffin taking over. Nick Saban’s former assistant has been around but he usually struggles in that first season with a new Power Five program and Ole Miss should be no different. The Rebels are not in a good place right now.

Ending the season with a tough road game might not be the worst thing as it could be the only thing standing between Alabama and an appearance in the SEC title game.

Brian Maurer and Jarrett Guarantano will be battling it out for the starting quarterback spot and the winner gets to lead one of the fastest-rising teams in the SEC. Jeremy Pruitt will face his former boss in hopes of making a statement, but Alabama will have all the motivation with an SEC crown on the line.
