Arkansas Football: Constructing perfect 10-game schedule for 2020
I know what you’re thinking: how the heck would facing Alabama in the first game of the season be considered ‘perfect’? The answer is simple: get the tough games out of the way early on.
When you’re a young team with a new coach and know that you’re already facing a massive rebuild, it’s better to get the tough games out of the way early on and get battle-tested, preparing to finish the season on a high note.
Arkansas will take this licking against Alabama and move on.
The reigning national champs would come to town in the second game of the season in a perfect world because it would give the Razorbacks a chance to see LSU before it really hits its stride.
Joe Burrow is gone and some key pieces are missing on both sides of the ball which helped them win a national title, but the Tigers should still be a top-10 team. If Arkansas can even keep this one relatively close, that’d be a huge learning opportunity for Sam Pittman.
You guessed it, another tough game to get out of the way so that Arkansas can finish the season with some momentum instead of start with it.
Georgia loses Jake Fromm and D’Andre Swift so the offense will be going through a transition, but JT Daniels and Jamie Newman are more than capable starters. The Bulldogs will reload and make life difficult for Arkansas even in Fayetteville.
