The last time that these two teams in Lexington, they met as top 10 teams with the SEC East title on the line. We aren’t in for a game of that magnitude, but this one screams trap. After another loss to Alabama, Georgia will need to shake it off and keep their eyes on the SEC title and potential College Football Playoff game, Georgia will come into this game sleepwalking a little bit and be caught off guard.
Mark Stoops has done a good job of maintaining success at a program like Kentucky and is a very good coach. The Wildcats should be better offensively with Terry Wilson back and healthy at quarterback and the defense will be stingy as usual.
However, the Bulldogs escape Lexington with a win.
Final Score: Georgia 24, Kentucky 20 (4-1)
The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will be for the SEC East title and possibly even bigger prizes, so no pressure on either side. Florida will be looking to take that next step in Dan Mullen’s third season and capture the SEC East for the first time since 2016, which was also the last time that they beat Georgia.
After back-to-back double-digit win seasons and New Year’s Six bowl wins, Florida is right on schedule and recruiting well, however, they have fallen flat when matched up with the Bulldogs over the past couple of years when there has been plenty at stake so I think that some pressure is on Mullen and the Gators this season to capture the East.
Kyle Trask is back and is the most experienced quarterback in the SEC. This will be a tough game but I think it’s this simple: Georgia has better talent and is a deeper team than the Gators and I have serious doubts of whether Trask is a good enough quarterback to win a game like this.
Final Score: Georgia 28, Florida 24 (5-1)
