Florida football has a ton of talented guys on both sides of the ball, but can the Gators bring home the SEC title for the first time since 2008?

Florida has gathered a lot of attention and hype over the offseason, and for good reason.

For the first time in what seems like forever now, Florida has their guy at quarterback in Kyle Trask. In the decade plus after Tim Tebow, nobody was ever really able to fill those shoes. The Gators regularly had a top level defense but the offense was what held them back in their attempts to join the elites of college football.

After Felipe Franks went down early with an injury in 2019, Trask stepped in and looked better than Franks ever did, throwing for 2,941 yards on a 67 percent completion rate for 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Trask is the top returning passer in the SEC.

Head coach Dan Mullen looks like the best hire from the 2017 coaching carousel, going 21-5 in his first two seasons. In a conference with plenty of coaches that have had a lot of success, Mullen should be towards the top of any coaching rankings in the SEC.

With the top returning quarterback in the conference in Trask and Mullen running the show, the Gators have a real shot at bringing the SEC title back to Gainesville for the first time since 2008. In what will for sure be a much different season this year, there’s reason to believe Florida can take home the SEC crown.
