West Virginia football has a few players that are stars, but what about the other guys? These are the most underrated players heading into 2020.

Although he’s just beginning his second season at West Virginia, Neal Brown has a group of budding stars outsiders are becoming familiar with.

Guys like Dante and Darius Stills turned heads last season. Wide receiver Sam James is primed for a breakout sophomore campaign after leading the team in yards and receptions. And although he’s still unproven, quarterback Jarret Doege looks like he could be special. Mountaineer Nation has a lot to be excited about.

But West Virginia is always the underdog, even when they field guys like Will Grier and David Sills. As a whole, they’re used to being overlooked and underrated. Is that what makes the program successful? Maybe not directly, but those players who aren’t four and fuve-star talents always have a shot at being revered in Morgantown. Just look at any of the school’s biggest stars in recent memory.
