Tarik Black’s career at Ann Arbor may be one of the biggest disappointment in all of college football, leaving so much unanswered.

Black, a four-star prospect out of Connecticut, was slated to start as a true freshman for the Wolverines and he did just that. In his first game versus Florida, Black scored a touchdown on his first reception and had two catches for 83 yards on the day. Shortly after in only the third game of the year, he went down with a broken left foot cutting his season short. At the time of his injury, he led the Wolverines in receiving yards.

Injures plagued Black all throughout his entire career which in the long run, cost him playing time.

Last season, he had to compete for playing time with Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins and Ronnie Bell. He ended the season with only 25 receptions for 323 yards and a touchdown.

Black is now a Texas Longhorn under fiery head coach Tom Herman and now he finally has a proven playmaker in Sam Ehlinger to get him the ball.
