Louisville Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020
By Dante Pryor
This game is an interesting one. The Panthers pass rush should wreak havoc on the Louisville offensive line. Pitt’s star defensive end Jaylen Twyman is opting out like Gregory Rousseau in Miami. Can Pitt score even against a defense as bad as Louisville?
Despite Louisville’s abysmal defense, Pitt can be equally inept offensively. Also, Pitt will make mistakes to either keep their opponent in games or get them back in a game. This game is sure to be a close one.
The Cardinals come up with just enough offense, and the Panthers make the critical mistake to give Louisville the close win.
Final Score: Louisville 20, Pitt 14 (2-1, 1-1)
Geoff Collins has proved his mettle as a recruiter hauling in a top 30 class. However, that means the youth movement continues in Atlanta. They are still in transition from the option to a more pro-style offense.
That’s not to say the Yellowjackets won’t give you a game. G upset Miami on a sleepy Saturday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium and lost to Virginia by just one possession. The defense wasn’t bad but was often tired playing opposite an offense that scored 14 points or less in six of 12 games last season.
There are no upsets this season. Louisville has too much talent and speed on offense and just enough defense. Georgia Tech will show some improvement, but Louisville wins this one going away.
Final Score: Louisville 42, Georgia Tech 17 (3-1, 2-1)
