Texas A&M once again figures to be better than their record shows. As with most of the SEC, they run a brutal schedule. They’re not in the elite tier with Alabama, Georgia or Florida, but they’re firmly a level below.

Unfortunately for Arkansas, the Aggies are miles ahead of the Razorbacks.

This will be year three for Jimbo Fisher at A&M where he has sky-high expectations. This is where the Aggies have to produce.

Texas A&M’s defense returns nine starters from a top 40 unit and eight starters from an offense that has room for improvement.

Texas A&M has a very physical offensive line, all five of which return. That will be the difference, but the game will be closer than the score shows.

Prediction: Arkansas 20, Texas A&M 34 (1-4)

Tennessee is a real wildcard this season. In year two under Jeremy Pruitt, which Vols team is real: the one that started 2-5 with losses to Georgia State and BYU? Or the one that finished as one of the hottest teams in the country with six straight wins?

Tennessee has to replace three starters on defense, but they were arguably the three best players on the unit.

Tennessee is poised to make the jump from six wins to solid bowl team and this is a game that they have to not just win, but dominate.

Arkansas has the talent on offense to put up some points, but it just won’t be enough to top what should be a much better Tennessee offense.

Prediction: Tennessee 37, Arkansas 24 (1-5)
