Tough SEC schedule awaits South Carolina football in what could be a pivotal year for head coach Will Muschamp and the program.
South Carolina fans are anxiously waiting for the program to get back to the winning ways that they enjoyed under Steve Spurrier and there is a feeling that they are starting to lose a little bit of patience.
Head coach Will Muschamp has been plagued by the same problems that he had while he was the head coach at Florida, which is a lack of offense. The Gamecocks thought they had found a quarterback for the future of the program with Jake Bentley, but he could never find the consistency to be a productive starter and left the program to go be the quarterback at Utah, leaving Ryan Hilinski as the unquestioned starter.
To make things even more challenging, the Gamecocks will have to replace stars like defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and wide receiver Bryan Edwards as well as their top three running backs.
South Carolina will have one of the best secondaries in the conference led by Israel Mukuamu and RJ Roderick and Muschamp has shown the ability to develop talent on the defensive side of the ball. The Gamecocks did also pull in a good recruiting class.
There are a lot of things working against South Carolina this fall and it will be up to Hilinski and this defense to lead the team and pull some upsets this season.
Here is how the 2020 season will play out for South Carolina football.
