The Bears figure to be rebuilding this year following the departure of head coach Matt Rhule to the NFL. Meanwhile, former LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda comes in to replace him. The good news for Baylor fans is that quarterback Charlie Brewer will return for his senior year.

However, despite Aranda’s credentials, their defense will be very inexperienced with only two starters returning.

It will be interesting to see how quickly Aranda gets his players up to speed. However, even Rhule struggled in his first year.

Expect Iowa State to take advantage.

Final Score: Iowa State 24, Baylor 14 (5-2, 4-2)

Like the Cyclones, K-State is also looking to finish in the top half of their conference.

The Wildcats will once again be led by the efficient senior quarterback Skylar Thompson. Like Iowa State, K-State will also need to rebuild its offensive line this year.

Both teams have bye weeks before this matchup as this could be the most pivotal game of the season for both sides.

Expect another Farmaggedon slugfest. This feels like a Charlie Kolar game, but Kansas State has the talent at linebacker to potentially slow him down. In the end, the key could be Skylar Thompson making plays with his feet to keep the chains moving on third downs.

Final Score: Kansas State 35, Iowa State 28 (5-3, 4-3)
