Army football looked dominant on both offense and defense in their 42-0 rout of the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at home today.

It was a beautiful day along the Hudson River as the Army Black Knights took on the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders at Michie Stadium. It was a great day for football.

Unfortunately for the Blue Raiders, they have had better days.

The Black Knights dominated Middle Tennessee 42-0 on Saturday afternoon. In a season of constant change and uncertainty, the Blue Raiders did not know they were going to West Point until Aug. 10. Army is one of the more difficult teams to prepare for; it has to be more difficult when you have less time.

Jeff Monken and his coaching staff must be pleased to get off to such a strong start after a disappointing 5-8 record in 2019. The offense looked in sync with new starting quarterback Christian Anderson, and the defense was dominant under new defensive coordinator Nate Woody.

It is back to the drawing board for the Blue Raiders. The defense surrendered 340 rushing yards while the offense turned the ball over four times. It was Army’s first home shutout since 1990 and its most massive shutout victory since 1963 against Wake Forest.

Here are three more takeaways from the Army’s dominant win on Saturday afternoon.
