After a tumultuous offseason and plenty of uncertainty, Week 1 of the college football season had no big games, but football season has made its return.

The first full Saturday of games did not turn out many envisioned at the start of the calendar year. There was no USC vs. Alabama, Michigan vs. Washington or North Carolina vs. UCF, but it was just a relief for football fans everywhere to see the game that they love being played and that is what made this weekend so great.

The theme for the unprecedented 2020 season could certainly be too expect the unexpected each week and I’m sure that college football fans would not mind that one bit.

Here are the five key takeaways that saw from Week 1 of the college football season.
