Spencer Rattler looks to continue QB tradition

As stated before, Spencer Rattler might be the best quarterback to wear the Sooner uniform. And that alone says a lot about the talent of Rattler given that two of the last three Sooner quarterbacks were the number one overall pick in the NFL draft in consecutive years, and the other went in the second round in this year’s draft.

Rattler leads an offense that will be searching for a new No. 1 receiver as CeeDee Lamb is now a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

But given their recruitment and history, the Sooners will rely on the “next man up” mentality as they search for Lamb’s replacement. Charleston Rambo is the first name that comes to mind to fill this void as Rambo was the team’s second-best receiver in 2019. The air attack will have plenty of balance as the Sooners’ ground game has secretly been one of the best in the country in the past several seasons, and having their leading rusher from 2019 returning helps a lot.

But it does not matter how good your run and pass game plan is if you do not have an offensive line, and for the Sooners, they have one of the best in the country, returning four starts from 2019, including All-American Creed Humphrey.

Do not expect a drop off from the Sooners’ offense in 2020, as they might put up more yards and points than they have before.
