2. The search for a No. 2 receiver was not answered
With the loss of Tee Higgins, Clemson was looking for a reliable No. 2 option, alongside Amani Rodgers. Although that wasn’t clearly answered on Saturday night, Clemson showed that it has options.
Nine different players caught a pass and there were five Tigers who reeled in multiple passes. Breaking out of the group for the time being was Brandon Galloway who had five receptions for 60 yards in the contest.
Trevor Lawrence will go down as a generational quarterback in college football. However, he has always had an elite wide receiver, whether that was Justyn Ross or Tee Higgins.
Whether that be Galloway, Joseph Ngata or Frank Ladson Jr., Clemson will need a No. 2 guy to step up. One of those three receivers will need to be that.
