2. The offense had no shortage of explosive plays

Outside of the run game, the Texas offense looked incredible. The aerial attack carried the Longhorns and that was surprising given the fact that it seemed like this would be the perfect game to get Keaontay Ingram some reps and everyone probably expected Sam Ehlinger to run more than just a few times for 12 yards.

While the run game was stifled for the most part, the passing game had explosive play after explosive play and that began on the first play of the game with a 78-yard touchdown pass from Ehlinger to Joshua Moore to set the tone.

On top of that, Ehlinger had 40-plus yard passes to both Jordan Whittington and Brenden Schooler and every receiver who caught a pass from the senior quarterback on Saturday had a long of over 10 yards. That’s impressive considering he connected with nine different guys.

Moore looks like an explosive threat on offense as well as Michigan transfer Tarik Black who had five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown in his debut.

This offense is going to be scary in 2020.
