3. Louisville’s skill position guys

Louisville quietly boasts one of the better offensive skill position groups in the country. Tutu Atwell is one of the best receivers in the country and a major deep threat. He broke out last year with 70 catches for 1,276 yards and 12 touchdowns. Last week he had seven catches for 78 yards, in a somewhat quiet game for him compared to the rest of the offense.

Dez Fitzpatrick and Braden Smith each had 110 receiving yards. Fitzpatrick is a senior and the No. 2 receiver. If Smith, a JUCO transfer, can truly break out this year, Louisville could contend as one of the most talented receiving corps in the country.

Adding to the passing attack is now sophomore tight end Marshon Ford who, as a freshman, led the ACC tight end group in touchdowns.

Running back Javian Hawkins was quiet last week only gaining 71 yards on the ground but did score a touchdown. As a freshman last year, Hawkins ran for 1,525 yards on a 5.8 yards per carry average. If Hawkins gets going to go along with Micale Cunningham and this receiving corps, Miami’s defense is going to be in for a rough night.
