Miami football picked up a big victory in primetime against Louisville on Saturday night and look like a top 15 team going forward.

834. 34. 849. Final. 47

Miami football fans have been waiting to see an offense like this in a big game in primetime and the Hurricanes offense did not disappoint. D’Eriq King gets all of the headlines, but this was a good group effort from the Canes offense, with big games from Jaylan Knighton and tight end Brevin Jordan.

The Canes showed big play ability drive after drive and never slowed down no matter if the Cardinals got going on offense.

The Louisville defense had a tough night all around and looked more like the unit that got roasted all of last season rather than the one that looked solid a week ago against Western Kentucky.

Louisville’s secondary was gashed for big plays all night and there was a lot of busted plays that led to touchdowns. This is an area that must be fixed going forward if Louisville hopes to bounce back and still have a solid season.

Miami’s defense gave up some yards on the ground in the second half and some downfield throws, but a lot of the time tonight, the Canes’ defense kept Malik Cunningham and company in check. The Cardinals offense really didn’t get going until it was already too late and that will be another thing that the Cardinals need to do if they want to have the kind of season that they are capable of.

Here are the three takeaways from Miami’s victory over Louisville on Saturday night.
