2. Offensive line had some serious issues

Pitt’s offensive line had four starters returning heading into the season, but Syracuse’s defensive line and blitz formations made life difficult for this group all afternoon long.

It seemed like Kenny Pickett was running for his life on every snap and drop-back and the run game couldn’t get anything going which really raises some concerns up front. Syracuse may have a solid defensive line, but this was an unacceptable performance especially when the Orange won’t have the best line they’ll see all season.

Picket finished with 215 yards and two touchdowns with a pick on 25-of-36 completions. He probably would have had much better numbers if balls weren’t batted down at the line and if he was given enough time to spot his targets.

How will this line fare when they face Miami, Florida State or Clemson? Heck, this might be a long season for the offense if the line can’t hold a block for more than a split second.
