3. Iowa State scores often

Last season’s TCU-Iowa State contest should have been a big indicator that Iowa State has the weapons to put up big points. They were able to rack up 49 points on a TCU team that underwhelmed in 2019.

Iowa State running back Breece Hall racked up 103 yards and one touchdown in the first game against Louisiana. Despite a fumble lost in the game, Hall was able to find success in the running game and is poised for a 1,000-yard season this year.

Plenty has been said about Purdy and the potential in the numbers he could record. His mobility and arm strength are enough to help Iowa State’s offense score at will.

Receiver Tarique Milton and tight end Charlie Kolar were expected to have big 2020 campaigns and be Purdy’s top targets. Milton only caught three passes for 18 yards and Kolar was on the bench with a lower-body injury. Kolar is expected to return which should be the boast the offense needs in the passing game.

The Louisiana loss is one that will be hard for the team to deal with, but their offense has plenty of weapons to get them on the right track. Purdy should be able to lead the offense in game two to big things and get the nation talking about them again in the Big 12 title conversation.
