Virginia Tech football is one of a few teams in the ACC that is experienced and talented enough to contend for a conference title.

Virginia Tech remains one of the most stable and consistent winning programs in college football. For 27 consecutive seasons, the Hokies have been to a postseason game, which is the longest active streak by all FBS teams in the nation. During those 27 seasons, the Hokies have accounted for an impressive 247-101 overall record. This was done by just two head coaches in that span

Justin Fuente enters into his fifth season as the head coach of the Hokies. During those four seasons, he has coached the Hokies to an overall record of 33-20 which is a continuation on the impressive run that former head coach Frank Beamer brought to the program.

Last season, the Hokies accounted for an 8-5 overall record including a 5-3 in ACC play. Their disappointing losses at Boston College (35-28), Duke (45-10) and Kentucky (37-20) in the Belk Bowl were among the low points for the Hokies. They were able to manage big wins at Miami and an overtime win over North Carolina.

This season, the Hokies are very much in the conversation for winning the Coastal division title for the first time since the 2016 season. To do so, they will need to compete with a red-hot North Carolina team, a tough but more focused Miami squad and they must host the Clemson Tigers in their last regular season game.

The Hokies return an impressive slate of 18 starters as well as a great group experienced coaches. Look for the Hokies to compete heavily for the ACC title throughout the entire regular season.
