In a week full of SEC matchups, Georgia football pulled the long straw and gets a tune up with Arkansas. Let’s preview the matchup.

Georgia, sitting at No. 4 in the nation, opens the season with the Arkansas Razorbacks — a team that is the definition of more questions than answers. The Razorbacks are picked to go 0-fer this year and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen, starting with a loss to Georgia in the opening week.

Of course, the Bulldogs are now without Jamie Newman who was supposed to be the starter as he has opted out of the season. They have not made an official announcement and there hasn’t been a depth chart released, but they are still in a better position, in my opinion, with JT Daniels, D’Wan Mathis and Stetson Bennett than the Razorbacks are with Feleipe Franks.

Here is how you can watch the Bulldogs beat down on Arkansas.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 26
Time: 4:00 p.m. ET
Location: Fayetteville, Ark.
Venue: Razorback Stadium
TV: ESPN2
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Keys to Victory

For Georgia, I will start with quarterback play. We aren’t sure who the starter will be and there is new OC for the Bulldogs, but they have the weapons to make this offense work no matter who the quarterback is. They have an embarrassment of riches at quarterback and any of those guys — Daniels, Mathis or Bennett — could make this offense go.

They will rely heavily on the defense as well to shut down Rakeem Boyd, who Arkansas will rely on to make their offense go. The Razorbacks will also look for their defense to match up with Georgia’s. New defensive coordinator Barry Odom will have a nice group of defensive backs to work with, but can they shut down the Georgia offense?

Prediction

Arkansas will do their best. Rakeem Boyd will show out. The Hogs wide receivers will do alright. However, it won’t be enough to shut down the Georgia team that is sitting in the top five in the nation in terms of rankings for a reason.  Georgia will just be the better team and that will show on the field.

Prediction: Georgia 35, Arkansas 7
