For the better part of three quarters, Arkansas put up a fight against Georgia football. The Bulldogs pulled away late, though.

Rusty would be an understatement to describe Georgia’s first two quarters on Saturday afternoon. It looked like the Bulldogs were going to be on upset alert, but ended up pulling away on the road to win by 27.

The Bulldogs came into this game without a true starting quarterback as Jamie Newman opted out of the 2020 season to prepare for the NFL draft and JT Daniels didn’t get the green light in his recovery from an injury that ended his 2019 season.

It showed.

The game was close for the first two-plus quarters and then the Bulldogs finally pulled away. The final score is not indicative of how close this one truly was.

What’d we learn from Georgia’s win over the Razorbacks?

3. Slow start for Zamir White

Zamir White is supposed to be the latest in the long line of great Georgia running backs and the promise is there, but he didn’t exactly look like a breakout star against a defense that has been at the bottom of the SEC for years.

In fact, he rushed for just 71 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown. Yes, that’s still a 5.5 yards per carry average but it’s not exactly a breakout performance.

White is going to be just fine, but this may say a lot about the Georgia offensive line as well that they couldn’t open up gaping running lanes against the Razorbacks. This is just a slow start to the White era that will get turned around and it needs to before the Bulldogs face Auburn next week.
