Tennessee Football: 3 takeaways from thrilling win over South Carolina
1. South Carolina defense made Tennessee look good
Tennessee was able to move the ball relatively well all night long, posting 494 yards and the offense was well-balanced. It seemed like the Gamecocks’ defense couldn’t get enough stops and that will absolutely kill them moving forward.
If South Carolina has any hope to stop the explosive Florida offense next week, the defense is going to have to step it up, and big time.
Ernest Jones led the Gamecocks with 11 total tackles on Saturday night and behind him, Kingsley Enagbare posted nine tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
Florida quarterback Kyle Trask threw for six touchdown passes in their opening game on Saturday and it will take more than a handful of Carolina’s defensive line to stop him and his offensive line.
