4. D’Eriq King, QB, Miami

The “Is Miami back?” conversation is getting more intriguing each week. This Hurricane offense may actually be legit; they have a combined 130 points over their first three games.

D’Eriq King is leading this explosive offense, throwing for 267 yards and two touchdowns against Florida State. So far, King has thrown 736 yards and six touchdowns with a 67 percent completion rate and he’s added another 157 yards on the ground. Miami’s new high-tempo offense being called by Rhett Lashlee looks like it may have been what’s missing.

King is commanding the offense impressively thus far and Miami might be for real. His numbers don’t look super impressive compared to some other quarterbacks from this past weekend, but if Miami makes a run for the ACC title, it looks like it’s going to be on the back of King.

Currently, King is listed as the favorite to win the Heisman at +600, the same odds as Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.

We’ll have another primetime opportunity to watch King and the Canes in their next game on Oct. 10 against Clemson. If King can lead Miami to the win he’ll be in the top spot for the Heisman.
