Louisville football visited Pitt for their third game of the season, a matchup between two top-25 teams. What did we learn from the loss?

The Louisville Cardinals faced off against Pitt, traveling to Heinz Field and playing the Panthers for the first time since 2015. It was one of the only top 25 matchups of the day, on the ACC Network, and produced a great game.

In the end, Louisville wasn’t able to pull off the win, and just fell short, losing 23-20. The Cardinals fell to 0-2 in ACC play.

The Cardinals’ offense was shut down by the Panthers’ defense, gaining just 223 yards and turning the ball over three times (all interceptions by quarterback Malik Cunningham). Louisville struggled to keep the ball away from Pittsburgh, managing to possess the ball just 24:44 minutes of game time.

Let’s talk about the three things we were able to take away from this game.
