Louisville Football: 3 key takeaways from Week 4 loss to Pittsburgh
By John Vogel
1. Hands down, Scott Satterfield is one heck of a coach
This Louisville defense is a bunch of “no-names” and undersized talents — but Scott Satterfield brilliantly finds a way to scheme them to their maximum potential every game. Players make big plays, the defense plays well and with a ton of energy.
Not just on the defensive side, but Tutu Atwell wasn’t a heavily-recruited prospect. Neither was Javian Hawkins. Satterfield has made a career out of maximizing the talent he has and leading his team to produce big results. He’s continued that at Louisville, and he was able to keep his team focused in this game.
The biggest positive to take away from this game is that after struggling to stop Pittsburgh in the first half, the Louisville defense held the Panthers to just a field goal and pulled two turnovers.
Louisville has the energy and the scheme to limit offenses, and that’s going to help tremendously when this team gets deeper into their conference schedule.
