The Gators may have found a hidden gem last season when Kyle Trask became the next man up, taking over at quarterback after an injury to at-the-time starter Feleipe Franks.

Because of his superb play down the stretch in 2019, Florida is expected to challenge for an SEC title and possibly receive a berth in the College Football Playoff this winter. Trask announced his presence with authority in a highlight-driven debut against Ole Miss on Saturday.

Fans in Gainesville have reason to be optimistic and should be bullish on the quarterback’s potential to deliver.

Despite spending his high school career not starting any games after his freshman year, because future Miami Hurricanes quarterback D’Eriq King transferred in to play ahead of him, he stayed the coarse and eventually landed a scholarship to play in Gainesville. The move speaks volumes about his talent and character.
