Wake Forest football gets its first real chance to end an early skid with Campbell coming to town in Week 5. Will the Demon Deacons dominate?

Dave Clawson probably didn’t expect to start the 2020 season with an 0-2 record, but Wake Forest had a tough matchup in its first game against Clemson and nearly pulled off a road win against NC State, but lost by just three.

The Demon Deacons are one of the more intriguing winless teams in the country and they’re facing a cakewalk in Week 5 against FCS foe Campbell.

The Fighting Camels are 0-3 on the season and got wiped away in their only game against an opponent with a pulse, getting dominated by App State. This should be a sure win for the Demon Deacons but it’ll be up to Sam Hartman and that offense to step up on Friday night.

Let’s get bold.

3. Jaquarii Roberson accounts for 100 receiving yards

Through two games, Jaquarii Roberson looks like the breakout star on offense that the Demon Deacons need. He had 13 catches for 154 yards and a touchdowns in his Wake Forest career leading up to the 2020 season but he already has 11 receptions for 167 yards and a score through two games.

On Friday, he’s going to dominate the Campbell secondary and that shaky defense with momentum clearly on his side. He’s going to post his first career 100-yard game and he’ll make it look relatively easy.

Wake Forest is going to build a huge lead early on and Roberson might even finish the first half with 100 receiving yards, including a 55-yard touchdown catch. He’s not going to play much in the second half with a huge lead and no need to risk starters’ health, but he’ll still catch six passes for 111 yards and two scores.

Big game for Roberson.
