College Football 2020: 3 teams that will be on upset alert in Week 5
1. No. 4 Georgia (vs. No. 7 Auburn)
This might not be considered a true upset, but Georgia is ranked higher and a seven-point favorite and that’s enough.
Georgia looked absolutely awful against Arkansas for the first half of the game, partially on offense. They couldn’t move the ball and didn’t capitalize on decent field position. The defense really kept the game together, until a second half offensive explosion.
Georgia’s quarterback situation is unclear, as JT Daniels is now cleared for action. It’s not yet known if he’ll start or it’ll be Stetson Bennett, who took over at quarterback and lead the Bulldogs to victory over Arkansas.
Auburn is also 1-0 coming off a victory over 22nd ranked Kentucky. Bo Nix is the difference, as he’s looking to continue his improvement as just a sophomore. Nix has some great receiving options to spread the ball around the field as well.
Even though this game is at Georgia, expect Auburn to come out swinging and go toe to toe with the Dawgs. A win for Auburn takes them from SEC threat to solid national championship contender.
A win would do much more good for Auburn than a loss would do bad for Georgia.
