1. Wake Forest has a heck of a one-two punch in the backfield

Early on, you could tell what Wake Forest was trying to do. They were trying to bring the heat in the run game, almost abandoning the pass. Sam Hartman is one of the better quarterbacks in the ACC, but the Demon Deacons had a plan to stick with the run and set the tone and they did just that.

Hartman finished the game with just 166 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-16 completions and it was because the Demon Deacons had a heck of a one-two punch in the backfield leading the way.

Christian Beal-Smith was the thunder the Deacons needed early, finishing the game with 130 yards and and three touchdowns on 20 carries. He was running by, through and around defenders and he isn’t even considered the go-to guy in the backfield. That’s Kenneth Walker III.

And just because Beal-Smith was the hot hand and led all rushers with 130 yards didn’t mean that Walker III was irrelevant. In fact, he had 11 carries for 105 yards and a score.

Wake Forest has a heck of a one-two punch in the backfield and it might be the most underrated duo in the ACC.
