Pick Analysis. 1-1. player. Scouting Report. lost 27-6 at #4 Georgia. Auburn Tigers. 10. 842

Auburn simply had no answers for Georgia in the quasquicentennial of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry on Saturday night. The Tigers collapsed 27-6 in Athens in the marquee matchup of top-10 teams this week, and as a result they will stumble out of the top 10 when the AP Top 25 is released on Sunday heading into Week 6 play.

Bo Nix was exposed by the Georgia defense, completing only 21 of his 40 passes for 177 yards and a pick. Auburn’s ground game also struggled at the point of attack, finishing with just 39 net yards as a team on 22 combined carries. When the Bulldogs had the ball, Auburn struggled to show the same level of containment as Stetson Bennett threw for 240 yards and a touchdown and Zamir White racked up two touchdowns and 88 yards on the ground.

Auburn can’t mope about the defeat, as they have to turn right around and play Week 6 host to an Arkansas team that showed remarkable fight against Mississippi State. One loss could still potentially be overcome for an SEC hopeful, but two losses would be the kiss of death for Gus Malzahn’s crew.
