College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 6
By Zach Bigalke
After struggling in the first half of their season opener last weekend, Georgia has done a complete 180 and announced its presence as one of the most dominant FBS teams in the entire country. Once again the Bulldogs will slot into a top-four spot in the AP Top 25 after they outplayed rival Auburn for a 27-6 victory in a top-10 interdivisional SEC matchup.
Stetson Bennett looks like the answer at quarterback for Kirby Smart. The quarterback finished with 240 yards and a touchdown, and that was with completing only 17 of his 28 passes. Zamir White looks like the next great Bulldog running back, as he finished with 88 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. The Georgia defense stood out as well, holding Auburn to only 216 total yards and preventing the Tigers from reaching the endzone.
The challenges don’t let up for Georgia over the next couple of weeks. They host Tennessee in Week 6 in a key SEC East showdown, then turn around and play Alabama in Tuscaloosa in what could be a preview of the conference championship game. Win both and they face Kentucky in Lexington on October 24 as the top team in the AP Top 25.
