Georgia football was able to dominate in the first matchup of top 10 teams in 2020. What did we learn from this statement win by the Bulldogs?

College football fans have been waiting very long for a matchup between two top 10 teams. They might want to disregard what happened tonight and keep waiting for a real one.

Auburn controlled this game from start to finish, after both teams traded punts on the first two possessions. After that, Georgia rolled off 4 consecutive scoring drives to go up 24-0 and never looked back. Georgia’s offense was led by Stetson Bennett who had a really solid game. Bennett finished the game completing 60 percent of his passes, adding on 240 yards and a touchdown.

Georgia’s rushing attack was very efficient, led by Zamir White who took 19 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns. 4 other Georgia players were given at least five carries and each went for 25-plus yards. Georgia did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage, rarely going backwards and moving the sticks 25 times tonight in Athens.

On the flip side, Georgia’s defense was stout and kept the pressure on Bo Nix all night. They were also able to make Auburn’s offense one-dimensional by dominating in the trenches against the run. Auburn was just able to muster 1.8 yards per carry on 22 attempts.

Tyson Campbell did a fantastic job covering Seth Williams holding him to three catches on nine targets. He was also able to put a great play like this on tape for NFL scouts to think about.

This was a game that both teams needed to get their playoff resume in order. What did we learn from each team?
