1. Texas is not back

We are going to see this take plenty after this game, but it’s true. Texas is not back.

Why is this a take? Because for years, we have heard that Texas might be back after every big win and then something like this happens. The Horned Frogs came in with an 0-1 record and far less talent than the Longhorns yet still found a way to win.

TCU just has Texas’ number, going 6-2 against the Longhorns since joining the Big 12 and that’s not what you want to hear if you’re Tom Herman. You’re supposed to beat a team like TCU regularly if you’re the class of the Big 12 or if you consider yourself back or on the way back but the Longhorns continue to trip over themselves.

Gary Patterson was not scared of Texas and it showed.

Texas has a lot of work to do if it wants to climb back into the playoff race, but this may have just officially crushed the Longhorns’ hopes.
