Week 5 of the 2020 college football season potentially saw the saw end of an elite program, a playoff contender losing, and two teams getting dominated.

Just when we believe we have the 2020 season figured out, another week passes by that creates more question marks. There were plenty of huge games and news that caused some shakups in the rankings and the race for the College Football Playoff.

For the second week in a row, the Oklahoma Sooners lost a big game they should have won. The No. 18 Sooners lost to Iowa State in Ames 37-30. This is the first time since 2016 that the Sooners have lost twice in the regular season.

It was difficult for the Sooners to compete for a College Football Playoff spot and an appearance in the Big 12 title game before Week 5. Now they will likely be on the outside of the playoff and conference championship conversation, unless they go on a serious run.

There were plenty of other teams that took worse losses in Week 5. Some teams took a serious in the chase for their conference championship title and the playoff. There were other teams that big hits as an overall as a program this difficult season.

The lopsided losses are adding up for some teams and coaches with could cause some major changes during or after the season. For some of these teams, it is not the first time they have shown up on this list in the previous weeks. For others, it will not be the last time as well.

Here are the three worst losses of Week 5 of the 2020 season.
